Picked, peeled, pressed and preserved, apples played a large role in the Colonial kitchen and on the farm, at Alden House and around New England. Join colonial foodways expert Stacy Booth as she shares the cooking methods, recipes “receipts” and preservation techniques used by “huswives” of yore to prepare New England’s famous apple fruit on Saturday, September 9 from noon to 4 pm.

There will also be cider pressing for kids, crafts, and tours of Alden House.  This program is part of the Duxbury Food and Wine Festival.  Admission is $8 for adults and free for kids, students and members.
