The Alden Kindred of America announces that former AKA board member and Duxbury resident Mark Jacobson has been appointed as its Director of Development.
Jacobson brings 35+ years of fundraising consulting experience to this new role. His primary activities will be to expand the awareness and footprint of the Alden House Historic Site and fundraising opportunities for the Alden Kindred of America.
“I am delighted that Mark Jacobson has accepted this position,” said AKA President Pauline Kezer. “Mark served on our Board of Directors and has the passion and the expertise to make a huge difference during this period of growth. As we begin construction of the Center for Living History, our Kindred must also increase its capacity. “Development Director Mark Jacobson and Executive Director Desiree Mobed will make a superb leadership team!”
Mark has consulted with over 160 different non-profits nationwide during his career and will now enjoy bringing his knowledge and experience to the Alden House Historic Site, one of his favorite spots since childhood.
His work will include addressing endowment-based preservation and programming. He will also guide the completion of fundraising efforts for the addition of the Center for Living History. Its purpose will be to provide a facility with exciting multimedia resources for a wider and richer spectrum of learning opportunities about the area’s early history and its direct connection to the development and growth of today’s American experience.
