Discover harvest‑time foods of colonial New England, from stews and baked pumpkins to cornmeal breads cooked on the hearth on Saturday, September 12 between noon and 4 pm. Skilled hearth cooks Diana Dunlap and Leslie Evans, Executive Director of the Avery‑Copp House Museum in Connecticut, will debut the Center’s new reproduction hearth with the first public cooking program in this space. Watch as they bring historic foodways to life through authentic techniques, tools, and stories that illuminate daily cooking in early New England. This program is part of a tour of the Alden House Historic Site.
