We are pleased to announce another major update to the 8 Generation project is now available on CD for your personal use. This information had not been updated since 2003.

The CD contains HTML files which are similar to those you see in the Genealogy portion of our web, as well as the related Notes and Citations files. It also contains a GEDCOM file of the 8 generations, which you can import into your own genealogy program.

This CD, updated as of October 1, 2006 contains entries for 54,191 descendants (and spouses of descendants) of John and Priscilla through 8 generations, as well as on 17,686 marriages of these same descendants. That is 10,000 more names than the 2003 edition!

Platforms supported: Windows (98, NT4, ME, 2000 and XP), MAC OS

Minimum Hardware Requirements:

• 400 MHz Processor

• 128 Mg RAM

• Microsoft™ Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator™ Browser

• 50 Mg of space on hard drive if you plan to copy files to your hard drive

NOTE: You do not need to be connected to the internet to use this CD

The advantages of having the information on the CD include:

1. Due to space limitations, the GEDCOM file as well as the Notes and Citations files will never be provided on the website.

2. If one has a slow dialup, accessing the information will be much faster from the CD or from your hard drive.

The CD is available from the Alden House Museum Shop and is available by completing the on-line order form, which is available by clicking on the button at the top of the page. The cost of the CD is $25, plus shipping and handling. Details are on the Order Form. An item number is not currently available, but simply list "Alden Kin Project 8 Generation CD".
